Jay Coggins, Ph.D.

Jay Coggins is an Associate Professor of Applied Economics at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Coggins holds a Ph.D. in Agricultural and Applied Economics from the University of Minnesota. Before returning to Minnesota he held faculty positions at Montana State University and the University of Wisconsin (Madison). He has taught courses in econometrics, microeconomic theory, public economics, and environmental economics. He has published widely on a range of topics, including political economy and public choice, international trade, agricultural policy, environmental policy, and the economics of market-based measures to control pollution. Since 1995 he has been an associate editor for the Journal of Environmental Economics and Management. He has served as a consultant to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and has secured grant funding from a variety of competitive sources.
